How to apply for the Hong
Kong Safety Mark ?
 Submit
an application form together with relevant product information
to HKSI;- Certification Proposal will be issued from
HKSI;
- Submit samples for HKSI's review, assessment
and testing in accordance with certification program requirements;
- Arrange a time with HKSI for inspection
on the prescribed product categories in the production plant;
- Once the product is found to be in compliance
with the relevant regulations or standards, the Hong Kong
Safety Mark License will be issued, signifying the right
to put the Hong Kong Safety Mark on the product is granted.
- HKSI will perform continuing surveillance
to see if a subscriber complies with the certification requirements
of the scheme after the license is granted. The certified
product has to undergo either Routine Inspection Visit or
Market Sampling Surveillance every year. In addition, Type
Test Surveillance will be carried out every three years.
The arrangements of the continuing surveillance shall have
been specified in the Certification Proposal.
